LSU Head Coach Kim Mulkey Explains Reaction to Team Being Selected as a 3-Seed for March Madness

After being caught on camera with a less-than enthusiastic expression during the LSU Tigers’ March Madness selection event, head coach Kim Mulkey has since given more insight into her reaction, or lack thereof, to the defending national champions being chosen as a No. 3 seed.

“It’s a tough region,” Mulkey said. “Saw a lot of teams that have played each other already.”

LSU (28-5) will take on the No. 14 seed Rice Owls (19-14) in the round of 64. Additionally, the Tigers’ draw saw the team placed in the same section of the tournament bracket as Caitlin Clark and the No. 1 seeded Iowa Hawkeyes, setting up a potential rematch of last year’s national championship game in the Elite Eight.
